Erythronium revolutum ‘White Beauty’
Height x Spread: 20cm x 30cm
A very pretty spring flowering member of the lily family with delicate white nodding flowers that gently flare, its large petals curving back on themselves like turkish helmets to reveal a tawny coloured centre. The foliage is attractive too, forming a neat clump of boldly marbled leaves that set the flowers off beautifully.
A charming additional to your spring garden they do best in a fertile, humus-rich free draining soil in part shade, where they will slowly multiply if left undisturbed. A natural woodland plant they look stunning planted around deciduous trees but work equally well as underplanting for shrubs in your border. Make sure that you know where they are planted as the foliage will die away completely after flowering, only to reappear in the spring. It would be a shame to dig them up in error.
