PENSTEMON ‘Cherry’

‘Cherry’ has delightful vibrant red flowers with a striped red and white throat, during the summer. It is a clump-forming upright perennial with glossy green, simple, narrow leaves.

‘Cherry’ is a very flexible perennial, it will work in any soil type providing it is not too moist. It would not look out of place in a ‘hot’ border. Deadhead the perennial to maintain its vigour. Do not be tempted to cut this perennial down before the winter, leave the top growth to protect it. In spring, after the last frosts have passed, cut the plant back hard. Softwood cuttings can be taken during the summer.
