PENSTEMON ‘Papal Purple’

‘Papal Purple’ is a short penstemon, it has purple bell-shaped flowers with white centres and deep purple veins. The flowers bloom during early summer and continue into the autumn over green lance-shaped foliage. 

A great perennial for attracting bees into your beds and borders, it prefers sunny or partially shady positions with any reasonable soil. ‘Papal Purple’ needs deadheading during the summer which helps it to maintain its vigour. Do not be tempted to cut this perennial down before the winter, leave the top growth to protect it. In spring, after the last frosts have passed, cut the plant back hard. Softwood cuttings can be taken during the summer.
